7 Security

  1. In August 2019, dental offices across the U.S. were affected by ransomware, which, just like WannaCry, locked professionals out of vital sensitive information. What actions can be taken proactively to prevent ransomware attacks?
  2. In 2010, Rutgers University student Tyler Clementi was unknowingly videotaped having an intimate encounter by two other students, Dharun Ravi and Molly Wei, who shared the hidden footage on social media. After the cyberbullying incident, Clementi completed suicide. Ravi and Wei were charged for invasion of privacy and secret filming, but not Clementi’s suicide. 1. Could the dark web be regulated, and if so, how?
    2. Some believe that Silk Road is a safer and more responsible method of obtaining illegal drugs because it cuts out the violence associated with the traditional drug market. Do you agree with this statement? Why or why not?
